Shaw Family Foundation was founded in 1970 by JR Shaw’s father, Francis E.Shaw.

JR was one of the Foundation’s directors since its inception and was its President from 1978 to 2020 - steering its steady growth that has enabled the Foundation to be able to support many deserving causes, particularly those involved in:

  • Health care

    Including mental health, addictions, and children’s health care.

  • Education

    Setting up scholarships at higher learning institutions and empowering young adults to gain the skills and knowledge needed to become entrepreneurs or overcome challenges to gain meaningful employment.

  • Arts & Culture

    Finding ways for people to experience the joy of arts and culture.

  • Community & Welfare

    Supporting community initiatives and reducing challenges vulnerable people may experience.

  • Youth

    Finding ways to help every young person feel safe and secure and be able to access activities in their community for a healthy lifestyle.

  • Church

    Initiatives that celebrate the power of faith-based spirituality and that dedicate time and resources to help our neighbours in times of need.
